Within Luminus, our Optimisation department is responsible for maximizing the value of the company’s energy assets—such as renewable generation and storage—by leveraging data and market insights to drive efficient, sustainable operations. The department plays a key role in supporting the transition to clean energy by optimizing production and trading strategies that reduce CO₂ emissions and promote the use of green energy.

As a Business Analyst for Optimisation, you play a key role in shaping the digital evolution of our energy trading and optimisation landscape. You connect business ambition with IT capabilities, ensuring that every transformation delivers measurable value and drives strategic growth.

What you’ll do

• Analyse the current optimisation processes and systems, capture the impact of upcoming regulatory changes (e.g. Elia), and translate this into clear requirements.
• Act as the bridge between business (traders, risk, generation) and IT, ensuring business needs are currectly understoord and delivered.
• Coordinate reporting demands within the optimisation team: gather needs, define priorities and align with BI colleagues.
• Document AS-IS and TO-BE processes, providing structure, transparency and clear impact analysis. 
• Drive workshops and stakeholder discussions to clarify requirements, build busienss cases and ensure aligment.
• Safegaurd solution quality and user acceptance from intitial analysis through testing and implementation.
• Support change management: communicate clearly, train business users and facilitate adoption so changes bring real value.

What you bring

• You hold a Master’s degree in a quantitative field like Finance, Engineering, or Economics.
• You have at least 3 years of experience in business analysis and requirement gathering.
• You understand financial instruments (forwards, swaps, options) and have strong affinity with the energy (trading) sector.
• Experience with ETRM portfolio modelling is a plus. 
• You’re experienced with Agile delivery (Scrum, JIRA, Confluence) and business process modelling.
• You bring analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with experience in data analysis considered a plus.
• You take ownership, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders and keep askign the right questions until things are clear. 
• You are fluent in English, and in Dutch or French.

As a Pricing Analyst, you take full ownership of the retail power and gas load book. You design robust pricing strategies, ensure accurate positions, and build optimal hedging frameworks to protect financial performance in a fast-moving energy market.

What you’ll do 

• Review and fine-tune transfer price parameters to keep them accurate and competitive.
• Monitor retail positions covered by portfolio optimisation and resolve any discrepancies.
• Integrate new developments into the transfer pricing framework, including renewables and energy sharing.
• Strengthen data flows for greater transparency and reliability across retail operations.
• Deliver precise data to portfolio optimisation for effective hedging and risk management.
• Influence strategic decisions by actively participating in pricing and fixed-price committees.

What you bring

• A master’s degree in a highly analytical field such as finance, mathematics, or engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in the energy or banking sector.
• Advanced Excel skills and a strong affinity for coding.
• An analytical mindset with a passion for understanding the bigger picture of the energy industry.

Klaar om de leiding te nemen in hernieuwbare energie en de afname van offshore projecten te optimaliseren?

Het departement Optimisation richt zich op het verbeteren van de marktpositie en operationele efficiëntie van het bedrijf door middel van strategische planning, risicobeheer en effectieve marktactiviteiten. Door marktinzichten te integreren met geavanceerde analytische tools, ondersteunt het departement investeringsbeslissingen, optimaliseert het activaportefeuilles en beheert het gedetailleerde contractuele overeenkomsten.

Als Offshore POwer Purchase Agreement (PPA) Manager ben je verantwoordelijk voor de offtake van het offshore project in de Princess Elisabeth Zone. Je richt je op het onderhandelen en finaliseren van de Power Purchase Agreement  met het projectbedrijf, in overeenstemming met de offshore aanbestedingsregels en het balanceren van risico's en beloningen. Naast jouw onderhandelingsvaardigheden ben je in staat om risico’s te beoordelen en contracten te structureren op een manier die zowel juridisch als financieel robuust is. Een belangrijk deel van jouw rol is het opstellen van forecasting- en modelleringstools om marktontwikkelingen en prijsschommelingen te voorspellen.  

Dit ga je doen 

• Ontwikkeling van afnamestrategieën voor offshore projecten, je zorgt ervoor dat deze in lijn zijn met de Belgische offshore wind aanbestedingsregels.
• Je houdt strategieën up-to-date met marktdynamiek, regelgeving en projectspecifieke vereisten.
• Je creëert Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) modellen die aansluiten bij afnamestrategieën en aanbestedingsregels.
• Leiding geven aan onderhandelingen, opstellen en finaliseren van PPA-contracten. Je zorgt voor naleving en commerciële afstemming.
• Je integreert Power Purchase Agreements in het optimalisatiekader, beheert operaties en monitort prestaties.
• Door marktrisico's en kansen te analyseren, verbeter je financiële resultaten.

Dit breng je mee 

• Je hebt een masterdiploma in Engineering, Commerciële Wetenschappen, Economie of een gelijkwaardig vakgebied.
• Met minstens 3 jaar ervaring in de energiesector ben je geen onbekende in het veld.
• Je bent oprecht nieuwsgierig naar hoe elektriciteits- en gasmarkten werken en je bent op de hoogte van de ondersteuningsmechanismen die hen aandrijven.
• Weet je iets over de Belgische offshore scene? Dat is een groot pluspunt.
• Excel is je tweede natuur. 
• Je spreekt vloeiend Nederlands en Engels en als je ook Frans kent, is dat nog beter!
