IT Team Lead - Scrum

IT, Data & Digital

Help shape the digital future of Luminus

As an IT Team Lead, you guide a multidisciplinary application delivery team responsible for building and maintaining business-critical digital solutions within Luminus. You combine people leadership, delivery ownership and operational oversight to ensure your team delivers reliably, predictably and with strong attention to quality and collaboration.

You will join a technical domain that sits close to the core of the energy landscape, software applications and integration paltforms that enable information exchange between our energy production, traders and the electricity grid. The focus is on robustness, continuity and clear coordination, rather than end-user interfaces (although we love user-friendly applications!) — and your leadership plays a key role in making this work.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and support your application delivery team as a people manager, fostering a safe and inclusive environment built on trust, feedback, wellbeing and growth.
  • Take ownership of application delivery, ensuring work is planned and delivered in a predictable and transparent way, and clearly communicating when timelines or scope need to be adjusted.
  • Support an agile way of working, helping the team structure their work, remove impediments and continuously improve — with a pragmatic, hands-on approach focused on delivery outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner, Architects, Analysts and Developers, acting as a strong counterpart to align priorities, provide context (“the why”) and support sound decision-making.
  • Own the applications in scope, from development to application-level operational stability (build & run), within a landscape that combines modern cloud solutions and legacy systems. (As a side note: you are not responsible for infrastructure or network management)
  • Manage the full HR cycle for your team members (internal & external): coaching, development conversations, performance follow-up and support.

What you bring

  • At least 5 years of experience leading software or application teams, in complex IT environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams in an agile context, with a strong focus on outcomes rather than rigid frameworks.
  • Strong people skills: you help individuals grow, support team dynamics and maintain sustainable ways of working.
  • A proactive, pragmatic attitude and the ability to take decisions in complex and evolving environments.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise application landscapes, governance and operational constraints.
  • Technical affinity: you are comfortable operating in an environment with AWS (serverless/Lambda, containers), .NET, and standard delivery and operational tooling (backlogs, releases, CI/CD concepts, monitoring at application level). You don’t need to code, but you understand enough to follow, question and support technical discussions.
  • Fluent in English, with good knowledge of Dutch and/or French.

Why join the team?

  • You work in a technically complex and impactful domain, supporting applications that are essential for energy production and grid stability in Belgium.
  • You lead a mixed team of internal and external colleagues, with clear ownership and tangible impact.
  • You operate in an IT landscape that combines modern cloud-based application solutions and legacy software, where pragmatic leadership is key to progress.
  • You work and connect with your colleagues at a Luminus office or from home. Need some flexibility? Your manager is open to discuss what works.

What you’ll get in return

  • The energy sector is one of the most rewarding industries in Belgium with a highly rewarding compensation and benefits package:
  • Competitive compensation: Attractive salary with a performance-based bonus that can be optimized to your personal preferences, plus meal vouchers.
  • Insurance & social benefits: Group insurance and hospitalization coverage for the entire family. Additional reimbursement for healthcare and pharmaceutical costs.
