As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how we optimise power generation through data-driven solutions. You’ll join our Generation Data Intelligence team, working hand-in-hand with domain experts and plant operators to tackle the unique challenges of electricity production.
What you’ll do
- You design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that predict failures, optimise maintenance, and boost energy output.
- You implement MLOps best practices, ensuring robust monitoring, testing, and sustainable deployment pipelines.
- You collaborate with engineers, operators, and domain experts to deliver impactful solutions for daily operations.
- You work closely with the IT NEO Data Platform team to standardise ML workflows and leverage shared Python packages.
- You transform raw operational data into structured, reusable insights aligned with Data Governance principles.
- You explore emerging technologies and innovative approaches, such as multi-agent reinforcement learning, to drive optimisation.
What you bring
- You have a strong interest in the energy sector and a deep understanding of electricity production challenges.
- You bring 5+ years of experience industrialising machine learning products from concept to production.
- You are fluent in English and Dutch or French, enabling smooth collaboration in multilingual environments.
- You are skilled in AWS services (S3, Glue, Athena, SageMaker) and Python for data science and ML.
- You have experience with ML frameworks like Scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyOD, and Darts, plus DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD, Docker).
- Bonus points for expertise in time series anomaly detection, AI-assisted coding, RAG systems, and historians such as Aveva OSIsoft PI.
