As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how we optimise power generation through data-driven solutions. You’ll join our Generation Data Intelligence team, working hand-in-hand with domain experts and plant operators to tackle the unique challenges of electricity production.

What you’ll do

You design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that predict failures, optimise maintenance, and boost energy output.
You implement MLOps best practices, ensuring robust monitoring, testing, and sustainable deployment pipelines.
You collaborate with engineers, operators, and domain experts to deliver impactful solutions for daily operations.
You work closely with the IT NEO Data Platform team to standardise ML workflows and leverage shared Python packages.
You transform raw operational data into structured, reusable insights aligned with Data Governance principles.
You explore emerging technologies and innovative approaches, such as multi-agent reinforcement learning, to drive optimisation.

What you bring

You have a strong interest in the energy sector and a deep understanding of electricity production challenges.
You bring 5+ years of experience industrialising machine learning products from concept to production.
You are fluent in English and Dutch or French, enabling smooth collaboration in multilingual environments.
You are skilled in AWS services (S3, Glue, Athena, SageMaker) and Python for data science and ML.
You have experience with ML frameworks like Scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyOD, and Darts, plus DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD, Docker).
Bonus points for expertise in time series anomaly detection, AI-assisted coding, RAG systems, and historians such as Aveva OSIsoft PI.
