In your role as an ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) Solution Engineer within the IT Commercial Core team, you collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external specialists. 

 

The Commercial Core's technological framework serves as the critical infrastructure for Billing & Collections, Customer Relationship Management, and Market Exchange processes.

Within the team, you are one of the ESB experts, responsible for the design to integrate and connect our various applications.

 


Your daily job

 

  • You capture on a daily basis the business requirements and translate them in pragmatic,  affordable and most of all a future proof solution design. 
  • You create sustainable solution designs that adhere to our solution principles, our security policies, and our architectural landscape. 
  • You estimate the effort and time required for the design, configuration, implementation, and unit/integration testing phases.
  • As part of an agile team, you coach and support the build and testing team throughout the various sprints. You also guide the users during user acceptance testing until the final delivery.
  • You design, develop, test, and deploy integration services using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and other middleware technologies.
  • You work in collaboration with business analysts, architects, and other stakeholders to comprehend the requirements and convert them into practical integration solutions.
  • You assist in the transition of existing integration services to the cloud, making use of best practices and the advantages of cloud-native features.
  • You are involved in the creation of event-driven architectures and event mesh, utilizing tools such as Apache Kafka, Solace, or other similar messaging platforms.
  • You handle the integration with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and other SAP products, employing standard protocols and APIs for seamless connectivity.
  • You are responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for the integration services across different environments.
  • You are expected to stay informed about the most recent trends and developments in the field of integration. Additionally, you should be proactive in adopting new technologies and tools that become available and are relevant to your work. 

 

 

Your profile

 

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or you have equivalent work experience.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in developing and deploying integration services using IBM ACE or similar ESB products.
  • You possess strong knowledge of integration patterns, standards, and best practices, such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, MQ, JMS, etc., and you are well-versed in service/api definitions like swagger or wsdl.
  • You have experience in migrating integration services to the cloud, using AWS, Kubernetes, and ROSA.
  • You have experience in implementing event-driven architectures and event mesh using Apache Kafka, Solace, or other messaging platforms.
  • You have experience in integrating with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including SAP AEM and SAP Integration Suite, as well as other SAP products using standard protocols and APIs.
  • You are proficient in Java or other programming languages commonly used for integration development.
  • You are familiar with various integration tools and frameworks, such as Git, Jenkins, Postman, SoapUI, and others.
  • You possess excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, which are essential in your role.
  • You have OS expertise on Linux, which is beneficial for solutions that are still on-premises.
  • You are familiar with Opensearch, Kibana, and Elasticsearch, which are key tools in your field.
