The Credit Risk & Models team is essential to safeguarding the company, actively monitoring and managing risks across B2B, Retail, Optimization, Suppliers and Affiliate portfolios.
Through insightful analysis and strategic advice, the team works to minimize counterparty risks and financial exposure, supporting informed decision-making and advancing Luminus's financial strategy.
As a Credit Risk Specialist, you’ll have a key role in shaping our credit risk management approach. You’ll refine and implement credit assessment methodologies for large accounts and strategic suppliers.
Your Daily Job
- You develop a powerful monitoring and reporting framework to track compliance with credit policies, integrate risk reporting company-wide, and align credit activities with open receivables and bad debt, setting the foundation for informed decisions.
- You define and implement cutting-edge models that strengthen our ability to predict failures for large accounts and suppliers, staying ahead of risk and fortifying our financial resilience.
- You leverage your expertise to make decisions on one-off requests within the Credit Risk Policy and Delegation of Authority (DoA), escalating cases to the credit committee when necessary.
- You represent Finance as the key voice in credit-related projects, coordinating across Optimization, Sales, Legal and other teams to ensure strategic alignment on credit acceptance and effective bad debt management.
- You collaborate with the Credit Manager to refine credit processes for target segments (such as B2B and Suppliers), working closely with other departments (Retail, Optimization, Production...) to streamline credit solutions.
- You work closely with B2B Sales and Affiliates to analyze end-customer needs, proposing customized credit solutions that create value and foster stronger business relationships.
- You prepare and track Credit Risk Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for review by the Risk and CBC Committees, ensuring transparency and proactive risk management.
- You work alongside the Credit Risk Manager to regularly assess customer portfolio risks, providing insights and actionable recommendations to refine credit policy and strategy.
Your Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Commercial Engineering.
- You have a strong ability to quickly synthesize relevant information and deliver actionable insights.
- You are proactive, eager to challenge the status quo, and ready to propose innovative solutions.
- You excel in organization, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- You are resilient under pressure and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
- You bring experience in financial analysis, ideally with knowledge of credit rating techniques and portfolio management.
- You have an analytical mindset with a high affinity for numbers, and you are proficient in programming tools such as SAS, Python, or SQL.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English or French.
